“ Hi, I’m Kamal Dhutia and I'm the President of Leicester Speakers Club. Welcome to our website!
We are a mixed group of people from a wide range of backgrounds, but have one thing in common. We all want to improve our public speaking and presentation skills and that is what our club is about.
We do this by practising our speaking in a safe and warm atmosphere, giving each other support and encouragement along the way.
Please feel free to have a look around.
Give us a call or drop us an e-mail, if you would like to try out one of our monthly meetings. You’ll be guaranteed a fun time!
If you live in the East Midlands / Leicester area and want to improve your public speaking and presentation skills, come and join us. ”

Humour is a powerful tool... use it in all your Speeches and Presentations.
At the beginning of a speech ........
“ My talk has only three points. This does two things.
First, it keeps the talk organised; second... it gives you hope. ”

You can do all that and more by learning the art of Public Speaking!
Leicester Speakers Club are a friendly and supportive group who get together once a month to practice our public speaking and presentation skills.
During our relaxed and informal meetings, we give prepared speeches, presentations and impromptu speeches, we also learn how to chair a meeting. At each meeting we give each other feedback, pointing out the strong points of a speech and giving advice for future improvement.
Public speaking can benefit many aspects of your life. Being able to express yourself confidently can improve your career and can help you in job interviews. It can assist you in giving a speech at a birthday or family party, as a best man at a wedding or even at your own marriage!
Our motto is first and foremost to always have fun and that is what we aim to do.
New people are very welcome. So if you live in Leicester or in the East Midlands area, why not come along to a meeting to see what it is like, before becoming a member?

“I became a member of Leicester Speakers Club in order to improve my skills in public speaking and presentations.
The Club has given me the confidence to deliver prepared and impromptu speeches in front of an audience of any size. It has also taught me how to prepare, structure and deliver a speech.
But most importantly...... the meetings are always great fun!”

“Public speaking has effected quite an astounding change in the way I view the world, and it has greatly benefited all areas of my life.
Not only does it improve confidence and provide an opportunity to meet genuinely interesting, talented and pleasant people, it stands out on my CV and University application as not many young people have joined a Speakers Club - they are missing out!”
Nick Sharland - Club Member
“Speakers' Clubs were recommended to me as part of overcoming my stammer: I haven't regretted it once.
The formality and etiquette are of immense value for making progress in confident speaking.
Constructive feedback from people I know has been massively helpful.
The diversity of the club in Leicester lets me focus on listening skills, too.”

“In my small business I could never speak to a group of my employees.
I was too nervous and shy.
I joined Leicester Speakers Club 12 years ago and since then I haven't looked back.
Through the friendly and supportive environment of the club I have learnt to face a crowd of 300 people with confidence.”
